Hourly pricing

Hourly rate and project price calculator

Convert hours and minutes into a clear task price without doing decimal-time arithmetic by hand. Use one rate or combine several task rates, then apply the commercial terms to the complete project.

Calculate rate × hours
01

Hourly-price formula

(hours + minutes ÷ 60) × hourly rate = task price

Minutes are a fraction of an hour: 30 minutes is 0.5 hours and 15 minutes is 0.25 hours. Convert the minutes before multiplying by the rate.

02

Hourly-rate example

3 hours 30 minutes at $80 per hour is 3.5 × $80 = $280. If the task is complimentary, the estimate can still show the $280 value while charging $0.
